During a conversation with a close friend, we discussed the decorations at our tea party and how they always aligned with the theme. I recall my friend being impressed by something that seemed ordinary to me. It was during this exchange that she shared an insightful observation: people often overlook their true calling because it manifests in the natural activities we engage in. Just like David, who utilized his training in the fields to defeat Goliath, our anointing can be hidden within our everyday routines. In addition to these hidden routines, there are five additional signs that may indicate you are anointed or called in a particular area:
1. The area you are called to is not only where you find the most success but also where you encounter the most stress. Though ideally, stress should not accompany our calling, it is often the case that when God calls us to do something, we experience a mix of exhilaration and trepidation. We are elated by the idea of pursuing our calling, yet simultaneously overwhelmed by the uncertainty of how it will unfold.
However, it's important to remember that stress should not be the defining characteristic of our calling. Rather, it should be an opportunity for growth and resilience. By embracing the challenges that come along with our calling, we can develop the strength and perseverance needed to fulfill our purpose.
2. Your passion and dedication toward the area of your calling are unwavering, even in the face of obstacles. When you discover your true calling, there is an unshakable fire within you—a relentless desire to pursue and excel in that specific realm. Regardless of the roadblocks or setbacks encountered along the way, your passion remains steadfast, propelling you forward with unwavering determination.
3. Others recognize and affirm your unique gifting and talent in that particular area. Often, those around us possess a keen ability to discern our strengths and talents, even before we fully realize them ourselves. Pay attention to the feedback and encouragement you receive from others—family, friends, mentors, or colleagues. Their affirmations serve as a confirmation of your innate abilities and can provide valuable insights into your calling.
4. Your fingerprints are on it: What do I mean by this? Well, when you are operating within your calling, there is a unique and unmistakable style to how you do things. It doesn't matter how many other people are engaged in the same pursuit; whenever you contribute your touch, it carries a distinctiveness that sets it apart. People can always sense the difference and recognize your influence. This is why even when a million individuals preach from the same scripture, they can offer a million different revelations or express their own unique styles. Your calling is a reflection of your individuality, talents, and perspective. It is the embodiment of the divine gifts placed upon you.
5. You feel a sense of conviction when you're not doing it: When God calls you to a specific purpose, even if you try to ignore it, your spirit cannot escape the weight of disobedience. There is an inner conviction, a persistent nudging that reminds you of the path you are meant to tread. It becomes evident when you deviate from your calling or neglect to pursue it wholeheartedly. This sense of conviction serves as a compass, guiding you back to the path God has set before you.
Embracing your calling and stepping into the anointing placed upon your life can be a transformative journey. While it may involve some challenges and uncertainties, it is through these experiences that we grow and discover the full extent of our potential. Your calling is not merely a personal endeavor; it is a divine assignment to impact and transform the lives of God's people. It may take various forms, such as entrepreneurship, empowering a friend, preaching the Word, nurturing a loving family, or raising children who will change the world. Regardless of the specific expression, your calling holds immense power because it is through your obedience and faithful service that God will work through you to bring about His purpose. The world needs your light-- your unique style, authenticity, and conviction to follow God's lead. Align where you shine!!
